Why Anti Aging Skin Care is Necessary
If you’re over the age of 35, you may already be showing signs of aging. Fortunately, it’s never too late to begin practicing anti aging skin care to recapture and retain as much of your youthful looking appearance as you can for as long as you can.
As we age, the body produces less and less estrogen. Because of this, our skin becomes more thin and fragile. Other problems that begin to occur with our skin as we age is that it becomes less able to retain moisture, and therefore gets drier easier. It also suffers from a lower production of elastin and collagen.
After the age of 35 our body’s production of the cell-nutrient Coenzyme Q10 also decreases. And there begins to be less pigment to our skin as time goes on.
One thing we produce more of during our lifetime rather than less, however, is free radicals. And while free radical production is a natural and normal part of aging, it is also a major contributor to signs of aging and onset of disease.
A lifetime of exposure to the sun doesn’t help our anti aging skin care effort any. Some studies report that up to 90% of wrinkles come from exposure to the sun.
Exposure to cigarette smoke is another hazard to the skin that builds progressively over time. As are all those years of eating greasy, fatty foods. Both practices cause clogging of the pores, making skin dry and fragile and prone to wrinkles. One of the best things you can do for your health on every level, including for anti aging skin care, is to eliminate cigarette smoke – firsthand and secondhand – from your life. And another is to eat a healthier diet void of oily and fatty foods.
